How to Receive a Kentucky Department of Agriculture Farmers' Market Sampling Certificate
If you are interested in selling preserved foods, contact Rhonda at the Gallatin County Extension office [ (859) 567-5481 ] to take the course for the prerequisite certificate.
If you are interested in selling cooked foods, please complete this checklist:

Read the bake sale guidance document.

If you are a home based processor, read the home based processor application instructions and complete the DFS-250 form.

If you want to prepare food on-site, you must contact the local health department [ (859) 567-2844 ] five days before the farmers market to pull a temporary food permit. A temporary food permit also limits you to only set up in the same area for 14 days. After setting up for 14 days you will not be allowed to operate there for 30 days.
